The Lord Mayor Clover Moore officially opened Virtus Health’s new purpose built medical facility on October 23, 2018.

Supporting the Green Square community, the new fully accredited, gold standard facility is designed to provide the highest level of care to patients. This facility includes the four theatre Alexandria Specialist Day Hospital, IVFAustralia fertility clinic, Virtus Diagnostics pathology along with ultrasound imaging, a pharmacy and a range of specialist consulting.

Patients will be able to access leading surgeons across a number of different fields including Colorectal Surgery; Fertility ; Gastroenterology & Endoscopy; Gynaecology; Paediatric Dentistry; Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery; and Urology.

“This is the first hospital development of its kind in the Alexandria/Green Square precinct, which is one of Australia’s largest urban redevelopments. With over 65,000 people moving into the area over the next 5- 10 years, ensuring that this facility not only meets the needs of our patients today, but also meets the needs of the community in the future was imperative,” said Nadia Stankovic, Virtus Health Managing Director NSW.

“We believe that the features of the facility, its location, and access to major public transport routes coupled with easy patient pickup and drop off points allows patients to enjoy a seamless experience."

Virtus Board member Sonia Petering officiated the event with special guest Lord Mayor Clover Moore cutting the ceremonial ribbon.

“I am delighted to welcome Virtus to the Green Square precinct” said Lord Mayor Clover Moore.

“Green Square is a $13 billion, 278 hectare urban renewal area – one of Australia’s largest urban redevelopments. The City has invested $1.3b in world class local services and facilities to service the 61,000 residents and 22,000 workers who will move into this area by 2030. It is gratifying to see the City’s investment in this area is being complemented by health sector investment.”
