Dr Lyndon Hale

Dr Lyndon Hale, Executive Director

Lyndon brings extensive clinical leadership to Virtus Health. Lyndon was the Medical Director of Melbourne IVF Pty Ltd from 2008-January 2021. He is also Director of Reproductive Surgery at The Women’s Hospital, and is on the board of the Fertility Society of Australia. Lyndon is highly regarded for his knowledge and proactive approach and brings extensive experience in assisted reproduction treatments to the care of his patients.

Peter Illingworth

A/Prof Peter Illingworth, Medical Director, New South Wales

Peter joined Virtus in May 2006 and since that date has served as Medical Director of IVF Australia Pty Ltd along with providing contracted clinical services to patients of IVF Australia Pty Ltd.

Peter is an accredited specialist obstetrician and gynaecologist with over 20 years specialist experience in the area of infertility practice. Peter has an international reputation in the field of reproductive medicine.

Prior to joining Virtus, Peter was Network Director at the Women’s and Children’s Health, Director of Reproductive Medicine at Westmead Hospital and a Clinical Scientist at MRC Reproductive Biology Unit in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Peter is a Conjoint Honorary Associate Professor at Sydney University, a position he has held since 1996.

Fleur Cattrall

Dr Fleur Cattrall, Medical Director, Victoria

Fleur commenced her role as Medical Director of Melbourne IVF in January 2021. After obtaining her medical degree from the University of Melbourne in 1996, Fleur completed her residency at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and her specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology at Monash Medical Centre. She then undertook further training at Monash IVF, Melbourne IVF and The Women’s Hospital, and is a recognised subspecialist in the field of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI).

Joining Melbourne IVF in 2006, over the course of her career, Fleur has held clinical responsibility for Melbourne IVF’s PGD programme and she is a subspecialist examiner in reproductive endocrinology and infertility. 

Manuela Toledo

Dr Manuela Toledo, Medical Director, Tasmania

Manuela was appointed Medical Director of TasIVF in July 2021, and is the only female CREI-qualified fertility specialist in Tasmania. 

After graduating from The University of Melbourne and completing residency at St Vincent's Hospital in Melbourne, Manuela specialised in obstetrics and gynaecology becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2004.

Manuela is interested in all aspects of infertility with a special interest in fertility preservation and complementary medicine in fertility care. She is particularly interested in complex IVF and providing second opinions.

Manuela has enjoyed consulting at both Melbourne IVF and TasIVF and also holds a long standing VMO position at The Women's Hospital in Melbourne, responsible for training future fertility specialists.

Anusch Yazdani

A/Prof Anusch Yazdani, Medical Director, Queensland

A/Prof Anusch Yazdani was appointed the Medical Director of Queensland Fertiity Group in 2019. He is a graduate of the University of Queensland (MBBS Hons), Anusch completed his specialisation in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (FRANZCOG) in Brisbane.

Following a fellowship in minimally invasive pelvic surgery in Sydney, A/Prof Yazdani returned to Brisbane in 2002 to develop tertiary referral units in minimally invasive surgery at the Royal Brisbane and Mater Hospitals. In 2006, he completed his subspecialisation in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI), resulting in the unique subspecialist qualifications in reproductive endocrinology, fertility and minimally invasive surgery.

A/Prof Yazdani is widely published in medical journals, has co-authored numerous textbooks and lectures widely nationally and internationally.

David Molloy

Dr David Molloy, Director Medical Affairs, Virtus Health

David was appointed as Director Medical Affairs in 2019 to identify and proactively manage Virtus Health's interests within the political, legislative and regulatory environment in which the ARS sector operates in Australia.

Serving as Medical Director of Queensland Fertility Group Pty Ltd in 2004 and providing contracted clinical services to patients of Queensland Fertility Group Pty Ltd since 1986, David has a distinguished resume of achievements, including acting as President of the Australian Medical Association in Queensland, Australian Gynaecological Endoscopy & Surgery Society Limited and National Association of Specialist Obstetricians and Gynaecologists as well as Chairman of the IVF Directors Group.

David also currently holds the position of Vice Chair of the IVF Directors Group, a position he has held since 2004.

Dr Moses Batwala

Dr Moses Batwala, Medical Director, Ireland

Dr Batwala graduated from the University of Leeds in Medicine and Surgery with Honours in Biochemistry in 2001.

He became a Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG) London in 2009 and became a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in 2013.

From 2014 -2016, he was a Senior Clinical Research Fellow at the University of Oxford, Institute of Reproductive Sciences (IRS) and undertook a Masters of Science by Research (MSc by Research) in  Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Quality of Life of Fertility patients.

He a member of the British Fertility Society (BFS) and a recognised BFS trainer in Management of the Infertile Couple, Pelvic Scanning, Fertility Preservation in Cancer, Male Fertility, Embryo transfer and IUI, Donor Conception and Surrogacy and Pre-implantation Genetic Testing (PGT).

From 2014-2018 Dr Batwala held the role of Lead Consultant in a number of prestigious London clinics. Most recently, he was Medical Director at an IVF clinic in London.

Dr Batwala was inspired to become an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist after witnessing the joy of delivering a child while a 4th year medical student in Leeds. During his time working in Obstetrics and Gynaecology he encountered a significant number of people who had difficulty realising their desire to become parents. As a result, his prime focus is to help those who need assistance in conceiving. He has a specialist interest in mild stimulation, treating women with low-ovarian reserve and Pre-implantation Genetic Testing (PGT).

He joined the Sims IVF family in 2021. He has a kind, considerate and holistic approach to managing his patients. He believes in empowering his patients in decision making regarding their care and management by explaining their diagnosis, options of management and alternatives.

Abou Cisse

Dr. Aboubakar Cissé, Medical Director, Aagaard Klinik

Dr. Aboubakar Cissé joined Virtus in September 2020 as Medical Director at Aagaard Klinik. Aboubakar is a specialist in obstetrics and gynecology. He graduated as a doctor from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, Romania in 1992. He has worked as a fertility specialist since 1997 in several countries. 

In Denmark, he has worked within obstetrics and gynecology and fertility departments at Herlev Hospital, Symbion Research Cnter and Hvidovre Hospital.
He also has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry, where he worked as a clinical research director and safety specialist/coordinator.

Kåre Rygaard

Dr Kåre Rygaard, Medical Director, Trianglen Denmark

Kåre is the Medical Director of Trianglen Fertility Clinic in Copenhagen. Partnering with the Virtus Health group in June 2018, Kåre is a specialist in advanced infertility treatment and all procedures related to infertility including IUI, IVF, ICSI and TESA.

Kåre first joined Trianglen Fertility Clinic as an external consultant in 2001. In 2005, he accepted a full-time position at the clinic and in 2012 became the owner of Trianglen.

Kåre studied medicine at the University of Copenhagen, graduating in 1987. Completing his thesis in 1993, Kåre undertook laboratory research on cancer related genes in small cell lung before becoming a specialist in obstetrics and gynaecology in 2000. Fascinated by the field of fertility, Kåre obtained further education from the fertility clinics at Rigshospitalet and Herlev Hospital, both of which are part of The Copenhagen University Hospital.

Professor Ying Cheong

Professor Ying Cheong, Medical Director, Complete Fertility

Medical Director and Co-founder Complete Fertility is a Professor of Reproductive Medicine at the University of Southampton, a specialist in Fertility Medicine, laparoscopic and open fertility surgery, endometriosis, recurrent miscarriage, polycystic ovarian disease and adhesions.

Prof Ying is an active researcher, leading the clinical research network for Reproductive Health in Hampshire and Isle of Wight and, lectures around the world disseminating her research as editor and author to over 100 peer-reviewed papers, books and chapters. An educator of Undergraduate and Post-graduate medicine and other related biological sciences she continues to mentor clinicians of the future.  In her daily practice, Prof Ying cares for both private and NHS patients.

Dr Roland Chieng

Dr Roland Chieng, Interim Medical Director, Singapore

As the Founding Medical Director of Virtus Fertility Centre Singapore, Dr Chieng was instrumental in setting up the centre in January 2015, bringing across his expertise and experience to enhance the depth of fertility care in Singapore.

Dr Chieng specialises in male infertility, reproductive microsurgery and fertility preservation. He is highly-regarded in Singapore as a specialist who achieves results, and provides exceptional quality care and service.

He has worked at KK Women's and Children's Hospital and Singapore General Hospital, and also spent some time in Melbourne consulting with Melbourne IVF.
