Singapore, 04 August 2023 – Global fertility leader, Virtus Health, today launched IVF(SG), a new private fertility clinic as part of its mission to make private IVF treatment an option for every couple in Singapore. Providing affordable, effective and science-based care, IVF(SG) joins Virtus Fertility Centre Singapore (VFCS) as the second clinic in Singapore under Virtus Health.

IVF(SG) is an alternative to both the public hospital and cheaper overseas treatment options, as it offers a more affordable IVF treatment in Singapore through its simplified and science-driven treatment model, coupled with a team-based approach to fertility care. This fertility care model ensures quick access to fertility treatment while keeping costs to the minimum. At an all-inclusive fixed pricing of SGD$12,888, IVF(SG) offers private IVF fertility services at public hospital rates. Patients can also use Medisave to help offset the cost of treatment up to a lifetime limit of SGD$15,000.

"We are excited to be introducing a new model of care, which offers alternative fertility treatment options for couples in Singapore," said Timothy Kwan, Managing Director of Virtus Health Asia. "Couples face significant emotional and financial burden when seeking for fertility treatment. However, we believe that costs should not be a barrier to starting a family in Singapore. At Virtus Health Asia, we are committed to making fertility care more accessible and affordable so anyone, regardless of financial circumstances, has the opportunity to realise their dreams of starting a family."

IVF(SG) aims to tackle the challenges in the public and private fertility treatment segment, which may cause added costs or a potential delay or in the treatment timeline. These may include higher costs associated with private fertility centres, a long average wait-time of three-months for the initial consultation in public hospitals or having additional travel time to overseas clinics for treatment.

“Timely access to the right fertility treatment not only reduces the time and financial costs for couples, but it is a crucial factor in the success of getting pregnant and having a baby,” said Dr Yeong Cheng Toh, Clinical Director, IVF(SG).

IVF(SG) shares the same leading-edge technology and capabilities of the Virtus Health laboratory together with the highly experienced and expertly trained embryology team under the leadership of highly regarded and renowned IVF scientist, Dr Liow Swee Lian. Both clinics are also located at the same medical complex, providing patients with a seamless care for procedures. IVF(SG) also offers a referral pathway to VFCS for more complex cases not suitable for treatment at the clinic.

“We are proud that the strength of our laboratory technology and team expertise allows us to achieve success with even the most complex cases,” said Dr Liow Swee Lian, Scientific Director, VFCS. “As a sister clinic to VFCS and a part of the Virtus Health family, IVF(SG) shares the advanced technology and capabilities of the VFCS lab as well as the highly skilled embryologists. Early partnership with a team of fertility specialists and highly skilled embryologists working in a laboratory that performs at the highest standard is essential to success of the IVF treatment.”

He added, "Success in bringing home a baby is highly dependent on the quality of the laboratory, which not only includes the state-of-the-art technology, but also the skills of the embryologists working within the laboratory.”

Patients at IVF(SG) will be supported by the clinic’s skilled fertility nurses who are trained in fertility care and IVF services. The fertility specialist team at IVF(SG) work on a roster system, providing patients the benefit of being seen to by a team of highly qualified and experienced specialists working together to deliver their treatment.
