Virtus' executive leadership team has extensive operational experience.
James Pyne, Chief Executive Officer
James joined Virtus in October 2022 as Chief Commercial and Financial Officer before taking the role of Chief Executive Officer in November 2023. James brings extensive operational, commercial and strategic experience to Virtus, including a strong track record of improving business performance, accelerating growth and successfully driving change.
Prior to joining Virtus, James held significant senior leadership roles at both Wesfarmers and Coates Hire. He has also worked in wholesale food distribution at Brakes (UK) and technology venture capital at Softbank (UK). James started his career as a strategy consultant at LEK Consulting and holds an MBA from INSEAD. James will use his expertise to drive Virtus' growth and transformation programme
Melanie Sibson, Managing Director, Queensland and Virtus Diagnostics
Melanie joined Virtus in November 2022 and brings a deep understanding of Assisted Reproductive Services and the Australian healthcare landscape to her role as Managing Director, Queensland.
With 10 years of experience in executive roles across the fertility sector and the private pathology sector, Melanie draws on her extensive experience in leadership across healthcare operations to drive excellence in our fertility businesses in Queensland. Melanie has tertiary qualifications in Medical Laboratory Science and holds an MBA from Deakin University.
Adurty Rao, Managing Director, Victoria and Tasmania
Adurty Rao joined Virtus Health as Managing Director - VIC/TAS in December 2020.
Adurty has held leadership positions across a range of health care groups over the past 14 years, and also holds a Masters in International Hospitality Management with experience in the hospitality sector, and therefore has a unique focus on customer experience.
A skilled people leader, Adurty was on the Australian Executive team at Ramsay Health Care, where she played a key role in transforming the group's operating model so as to improve patient outcomes, simplify and harmonise processes, while supporting the staff through those significant changes.
Adurty welcomed her daughter into the world in August 2019 and is enjoying her most important role, that of parenthood.
Lee Bakerman, Chief People Officer
Lee joined Virtus Health in August 2020 to develop and lead the People and Culture function across the group. Lee has over 20 years of executive level experience, leading the people and culture function across a variety of multi-national organisations.
Prior to joining Virtus, Lee spent six years with Broadspectrum (now Ventia) overseeing HR and Industrial Relations related workstreams for tendering and transition activities for major contracts across the group. In addition, Lee led the Human Resources function for the group’s Defence and Social Infrastructure sector, delivering essential contracting services through a team of over 5000 employees across Australia and New Zealand. Prior to that, Lee spent a decade in the power and electrical contracting sectors as Vice President Human Resources in roles spanning Asia Pacific for AREVA T&D, Alstom T&D and Norfolk Group Limited.
Lee’s strategic and commercial approach to HR and his passion for developing organisational capability has seen him lead several transformation programs across 13 countries.
Lee is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and holds a Master’s Degree in People and Organisational Management from Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Paris, a leading European business school. Lee has lived in six countries and is fluent in four languages.
Jane Power, Chief Marketing & Experience Officer
Jane joined the Virtus executive team in 2024 to lead the group marketing and patient experience strategy.
A commercially oriented and forward-thinking leader with proven success in delivering outcomes, Jane has a rich background in driving strategic marketing, customer experience, digital innovation and large-scale transformation projects in global companies.
Jane is passionate about improving women’s participation in the workforce and has mentored many return-to-work mums throughout her career. A member of Chief Executive Women (CEW) and a board member of The Song Room, which delivers arts program to underprivileged school children, she balances these passions with being a mum to two girls.
Tracey Evans, Chief Technology Officer
Tracey joined Virtus in 2024 as Chief Technology Officer and leads Virtus’ technology, security and health informatics functions.
Tracey has 20 years’ experience leading significant technology transformation whilst balancing the operational challenges of managing complex technology platforms operating across matrix organisations. She is a catalyst who understands how to manage complexity and improve business agility by employing enabling technologies where needed most. Over the past decade, Tracey has held various senior technology positions at Seek, culminating in her role as Chief Information Officer. Prior to Seek, Tracey held a range of technology transformation roles over a long tenure at KPMG.
Tracey holds a bachelor’s degree and MBA in Economics and Strategy and has certifications in Design Thinking (INSEAD) and Artificial Intelligence (MIT Sloan School of Management).
Tim Kwan, Managing Director, Asia
Tim joined Virtus in 2022, leading our operations in Singapore and driving the growth of our business across South East Asia.
Tim brings deep experience in healthcare operations and financial management, starting his career with KPMG and PwC prior to moving into the health sector, where he has held senior positions across finance, strategy and operations. Tim is skilled in successfully delivering growth initiatives including M&A, process improvement and corporate partnerships.
Tim is a Chartered Accountant, holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Specialist Diploma in Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Engineering. He is fluent in English and Mandarin.
Andrew Came, Director, Europe
Andrew joined the Virtus executive team in 2024 as Director, Europe.
Leading the European operations, Andrew brings extensive experience and industry knowledge to drive Virtus’ business growth and optimisation in the northern hemisphere.
Andrew is a seasoned executive leader of more than 20 years with deep international experience in healthcare and the ART sector, holding previous roles as CEO of Next Clinics and The Fertility Partnership. Prior to that, he held senior leadership positions at Procter & Gamble and TES Group, working across various regions in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Andrew holds an MBA from Kingston University and is a qualified accountant.
